Our History

MMI and Dubai is a partnership spanning over 100 years.

Today MMI is a subsidiary of the Emirates Group, yet its roots stretch back to its establishment as the Gray Mackenzie Company in 1891 and its establishment in Dubai in 1916. Nearly a century later, in 1983 it was renamed Maritime & Mercantile International LLC (MMI) due to a change in government legislation.

This long heritage in Dubai has been about much more than just growth. During these years, MMI has taken the initiative again and again to explore new opportunities, serve the needs of Dubai’s people and help its overall development.
